We read every note that comes through this site, and several of our best pieces started as a suggestion from a reader. If you have something for the desk, here is how we like to receive it.

What to send

• A pitch. A scene story, a profile of a local band, a chart worth dissecting. Two or three sentences on the idea and why it matters to players or listeners in Toronto.
• A correction. A wrong date, a mislabeled arranger, a set list we got sideways. Send the detail and, if you can, the source. We fix and note the revision.
• A listing. Your big band, your dance evening, your residency. Give us the name of the band, the room, the night, and what a listener or dancer should expect.
• A question. What to book for a wedding, where to hear saxes on a Sunday, how to start a community band. Good questions become good guides.

How to reach us

Use the contact form on this site and address your note to the desk. Tell us who you are and how you connect to the subject, a player, a planner, a listener down the front. A specific subject line helps us route it faster.

What happens next

We answer within a week, usually sooner. If a pitch lands, we will say so and tell you what we need. If a correction stands up, we make it and add a revision date to the page. Every note gets read by one of the three of us, and every reasonable one gets a reply.
